Can you bear it?
One mile. On your hands and feet. On the sand, next to the ocean, shoulder to shoulder with people who refuse to quit. Led by Kyle Maynard, the man who bear crawled up Kilimanjaro.
Every registration supports free mental health retreats for combat veterans.
Your guide up the mountain
Kyle was born a quad amputee. He was told what his limits were. Then he bear crawled to the summit of the tallest mountain in Africa without prosthetics. Now he is bringing that crawl to Miami Beach, and inviting you to do one mile of it with him.
Choose your challenge
Every finisher crawls the same sand. Your headband tells the beach how far you took it. Pick the distance that scares you a little.
The gateway crawl. Harder than it sounds, and the crowd will carry you through it.

What you get
Event day
Kyle Maynard and Mitch Aguiar light the fire with a talk you will not forget.
Straight from the speech to the sand. All distances start together as one pack.
Finishers line the course and cheer until the very last person crosses. That is the rule.
DJ, ice baths, coconut water and food trucks. You earned every minute of it.
The competition
Most people crawl to prove something to themselves. Some crawl to beat everybody else. Enter the competitive division on the full Kyle Mile and you are racing for real prizes.
The first three male finishers of the full mile.
The first three female finishers of the full mile.
Ten from your gym against every other gym on the beach. All ten have to cross the line. Fastest full team takes it.

Questions
No. There are three distances: quarter mile, half mile and the full Kyle Mile. Pick the one that challenges you. Every finisher gets a headband and the same after party.
If you can hold a bear crawl for short stretches, you can do the quarter mile. You set your own pace, rest when you need to, and the ocean is right there for a cool down dip. This is a challenge, not a tryout.
Swimwear or athletic gear you do not mind getting sandy, and gloves. Most people dip in the ocean mid-crawl. You will get your event shirt and headband at check-in.
Gloves are strongly recommended. You are carrying your weight on your hands the whole way, over hot sand and whatever the tide left behind. Any decent training, lifting or work glove will do. Your hands will thank you at the finish line.
Only if you want it to be. Most people are competing with the voice in their own head, and that is the whole point. If you want a clock on it, enter the competitive division on the full Kyle Mile: prizes go to the top three men, the top three women and the fastest gym team. Either way the last rule never changes, and finishers stay and cheer until the very last person crosses.
Ten people from the same gym make a team, and every one of them has to cross the finish line for the team to count. The team whose full ten finish fastest wins the Operator's Challenge, a full day of elite operator training worth $20,000. Everyone registers individually, then send your roster to admin@kylemile.com and we will score you as a team.
Register for the full Kyle Mile and email admin@kylemile.com to be added to the start list. You will pick up a numbered bib at check-in, and the finish line is recorded so nobody has to argue about who got there first. Crawling for a headband instead? Ignore all of this and just show up.
Proceeds support Veteran Wellness Retreats, a 501c3 that runs free mental health and resilience weekends for combat veterans.
Spectators are welcome on the public beach, and you might change your mind when the pack takes off. Registration is what gets you the shirt, the headband, the goodie bag and the story. You can also join the volunteer crew and be part of it without crawling an inch.
